Issue with MS Fabric account

Hi all,

Before joining my project, I have signed up for MS Fabric trial account with my official id. I have practiced for sometime and then I have got access to our project's MS Fabric platform.
Since then, I was having issues with MS Fabric in certain instances.

  • Whenever I want to debug Spark UI from Monitor page, the Spark UI redirects to a page with my trial capacity account and it fails to load the Spark UI.
  • If I try to open a notebook(which is in my project's workspace) in VS Code, the IDE opens successfully but it shows only the workspaces associated with my trail capacity.

This is really annoying and I would like to find a permanent solution for this.

Could you please help me with this issue?

Thanks.

Regards,

Gowtham

Hi @v-pnaroju-msft,

The issue still persists if I keep using the same account for my project which I used for trial capacity before.

So, I have got access to the Fabric platform with my other client email id. This resolved the issue. I am able to access all the resources now with out any issues.

Thank you.

Hi sgb_fabric,

Thank you for your update.

Based on my understanding, even after cancelling the trial, it is possible that the Spark UI may still redirect incorrectly due to cached sessions or legacy workspace routing associated with the original trial capacity.

Please follow the steps below, which may help to resolve the issue:

  1. Clear All Sessions and Browser Cache.Sign out of all Microsoft accounts. Clear your browser cookies and cache, and then re-sign in via app.fabric.microsoft.com.
  2. Access Spark UI via Direct Workspace.Instead of using the default links, open Spark jobs via app.fabric.microsoft.com/groups/<project-workspace-id>. Navigate to Monitor > Spark job > Spark UI.
  3. Ensure that your workspace is assigned to the correct organizational capacity. Additionally, verify that your account has the correct permissions under your project capacity.
  4. Try accessing the Spark UI from the Monitor page in a private or incognito browser window to avoid utilizing cached trial sessions.

Thank you.

Hi  v-pnaroju-msft

Thank you so much for your response.

I have done all these steps but still when I click on Spark UI URL link from the Fabric Monitor, it is redirecting me to the account it is associated with my trial capacity. Note: I have already cancelled my trial but since the same account is linked to my project as well, I couldn't understand how to get around this issue.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for your inquiry through the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

It appears that your environment is still linked to your Microsoft Fabric trial capacity, which may be causing conflicts when accessing the Spark UI and workspaces in Visual Studio Code.

We kindly request you to follow the steps below, which may help to resolve the issue:

  1. Cancel the Trial Capacity if Still Active. Please go to the Account Manager from your profile on the Fabric portal. If the trial is active, click on "Cancel Trial" and verify the status.
  2. Assign Workspaces to the Correct Capacity.Navigate to the Workspaces section, select the relevant workspace, and access the Workspace Settings. Ensure it is assigned to your project’s production capacity.
  3. Sign out of Visual Studio Code and clear any cached credentials. Then, re-sign in using your project credentials. Also, confirm that the Fabric extension is installed and connected properly.
  4. Ensure that your user account has the appropriate permissions. Confirm that all workspaces and assets are mapped to the correct capacity. If needed, please request your Administrator to verify this.

If you find our response helpful, we kindly ask you to mark it as the accepted solution and provide kudos. This will assist other community members who may face similar queries.

Thank you.
