Hi,
Whenever we create a new item in a workspace the "owner" column is set to someone who left the company ages ago. I have to then make my AAD group the owner and remove this person. Where is Fabric getting these details from as this person needs removing, could they perhaps be an aplication owner of some sort? Basically whereever this pwerson is setup I need to remove them.
Thanks Dave
Hi @Dave1967,
Have you check if the workspace and fabric artifact also owned by that user? What type of permission that you used to operate with workspace contents? Can you please share some more detail about these?
Regards,
Xiaoxin Sheng
Many thanks for the response.
Apologies, please ignore artefacts within the workspace. If I create a workspace the default owner is also the person who we want to remove (as they have left the company) so I guess the artefacts within the workspace are just defaulting to the same user. So the issue is really at the workspace level or above, we need to remove this person and replace with someone else (or an AAD group) as the default user for anything created within our Fabric application.
Hi @Dave1967,
I'd like to suggest you checked the capacity settings if that user is the owner/capacity admin of the current fabric capacity which you assign to the workspace.(Azure portal -> fabric capacity -> settings -> Capacity administrators)
You can add new user with admin permission to the capacity and remove the old users.

Xiaoxin Sheng
Many thanks for the reply.
I created the capacity and am the only Administrator, the person who needs removing is not an administrator
Many Thanks
Dave
Hi @Dave1967,
I also not so sure what other settings can affect these, perhaps you can ask you admin to contact and report azure support to check these if any other configurations which caused the issue.

Xiaoxin Sheng
THanks for the response.
I think the issue is with "perhaps you can ask you admin", I'm guessing there is an "admin" for the Fabric application and this is where the issue is but where is this "admin" defined?
HI @Dave1967,
The admin I mention means the global admin of power bi or azure admin which has permission check the which role/permission assign to the user or they can contact to the azure support.

Xiaoxin Sheng
