Hi @ML_dev , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

Thank you @lbendlin  for your answer. If I may, I would like to add a few more details.

  1. Microsoft Fabric greatly influences a Power BI developer’s career by broadening the scope of data management, transformation, and analysis. It provides a unified analytics platform that combines data engineering, data science, and business intelligence, making it crucial for Power BI developers to enhance their skills beyond traditional reporting.
  2. With the growing importance of comprehensive data solutions, professionals skilled in Microsoft Fabric will be in high demand. This can lead to better job prospects and career growth. Fabric's unified platform allows for seamless integration and collaboration across different data roles, making it easier to manage and analyze data.
  3. Begin with understanding the core components of Microsoft Fabric, such as Direct Lake mode, Parquet files, Delta Lake, and Time Travel. Fabric supports Kusto Query Language (KQL) for analyzing streaming data. If real-time analytics interests you, delve into Kusto and how it fits with Power BI.
  4. Microsoft is integrating AI-powered assistance for data prep, modeling, and insights. Keep an eye on how Copilot in Fabric can enhance productivity.
  5. Utilize resources like Microsoft Learn's training modules on Microsoft Fabric. These modules cover everything from basic concepts to advanced analytics.

Start by learning about the new data connection type sitting between Import Mode and Direct Query Mode.  You know what that is?  Yes, Direct Lake mode.

Next, learn about Parquet files and Delta Lake and Time Travel.

Then work on understanding the difference between Datawarehouse, Data Lake, Lake House, Fabric SQL, and SQL endpoints.

And lastly learn about notebooks and pipelines, Spark and Kusto with a dab of Python.

The best way to start is by having a business problem/setup that could benefit from any of the above.
