How do you lock canvas in fabric pipeline not working!

How do you lock canvas in fabric pipeline not working!

I can move pipeline activities around and lock the canvas but when I come back in after saving the pipeline the activities are all auto alligned left to right. As there are 25 activities this is not intuitive to the next developer who comes in to view it.

Basically the lock canvas option does not work.

Have I missed something or are Microsoft going to fix this?

Hi @Sureshot ,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

There is no current way to lock the canvas layout permanently in Fabric Data Factory Pipelines. Layout resets after saving are expected behavior for now. If the layout is critical for collaboration or review, external documentation is the best workaround until Microsoft addresses this limitation.

you can do below workarounds,

--Break down large pipelines into smaller using pipeline activities (e.g., Execute Pipeline) to make them more readable.
--Clearly naming activities (with prefixes like 01_Extract_, 02_Transform_, etc.) helps make sense of left-to-right auto-alignments.
--As a short-term fix, create a quick diagram or flowchart externally (e.g., using Visio, Miro, or even a screenshot with annotations) and attach it to the project documentation.
--Raise a Microsoft Support ticket / post to the Fabric Ideas forum
This is likely a UX feature request rather than a bug — Microsoft might already be aware, but adding votes or a ticket could help prioritize it.
