Fixed Issue - Tables not availble to add in power Bi Semantic Model

Known issue - Tables not available to add in Power BI semantic model - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft ...

We are still encountering this issue, though it is marked as fixed as of May 7th. Is there a potential Delay in rolling out to our Region? Or should it be across all regions?

Hi @anon97242,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Microsoft Fabric updates are typically rolled out globally, but there can be slight delays across regions due to infrastructure updates. Here are some steps and considerations to help resolve the issue:

  • Ensure that the tables in your lakehouse are created in Delta format, as non-Delta tables may not appear in the SQL Analytics Endpoint or semantic model. You can verify this by navigating to the SQL Endpoint in your lakehouse and checking if the tables are visible. If they are not, try refreshing the schema in the SQL Endpoint or rechecking the table format.
  • Sometimes, tables may not appear due to sync issues. In the lakehouse SQL Endpoint, go to "Manage Default Semantic Model" and try unchecking and rechecking the tables to force a sync. This has resolved similar issues for some users.
  • If the tables still don’t appear, ensure that you’ve refreshed the metadata in the semantic model. You can do this by going to the semantic model, selecting "Edit tables," clicking the refresh icon, and then confirming the changes. This step ensures the model syncs with the underlying data.

Thanks @v-ssriganesh  !

Today it is working!

I do have a followup questions while I can now create a static table in my Semantic Model using the DATATABLE Function. I am unable to create a Calculated table based on data that is coming from the warehouse. I get the following error message:

You cannot use calculated table to reference Direct Lake table. The model includes the following calculated table, '<oii>TestTable</oii>', which is not supported. Please remove the calculated table. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2215281 to learn more.

Looking at the link it is not clear to me if this is a permissions issue, or if this is fundamentally not something allowed in Semantic Models in Fabric currently?

Thanks!
