Esri and Microsoft Fabric integration

Hi,

I've seen some news about the integration of Esri with Fabric.

I'd like to resolve some doubts:

1. What kind of license do I need to use it? I see in the documentation a user and a password is needed. What type does the user license have to be? https://developers.arcgis.com/geoanalytics/install/fabric/

2. What kind of integration is it? I've seen in the documentation that I can use spatial measures in notebooks and see maps in notebooks (https://mediaspace.esri.com/media/t/1_oclw4xlz and https://developers.arcgis.com/geoanalytics/install/fabric/ ). Is this integration available for Power BI maps and visualizations?

Hi @amaaiia

I haven't experienced this integration. I went through Esri's website and found that the integration requires you to download and install the ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Engine. To download the GeoAnalytics Engine from Esri, you need to have a GeoAnalytics Engine subscription with a username and password, or have a license file.

According to licensing page, GeoAnalytics Engine is subscription in and of itself and must be authorized with a valid license before running any tool or function. ArcGIS Online subscriptions cannot be used to authorize GeoAnalytics Engine. There are two types of licenses for GeoAnalytics Engine:

  • Connected licensing via a prepaid subscription, authorized via a defined user (username and password)
  • Disconnected licensing via a prepaid subscription, authorized via license file

To get the subscription, you need to connect with their Sales team. The website doesn't provide an entry for you to subscribe it by yourself. There is a form at the bottom of this product page , you can try to get more information about ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Engine pricing and licensing by contacting their Sales team directly.

In Microsoft Fabric, if you want to use this integration, you need to have access to Fabric or Fabric Trial. That's all.

Hope this would be helpful.

Best Regards,
Jing
