Error During Deployment of Healthcare Data Solutions Tutorial: "Request failed with 500(Internal Ser

Hi Community,

I’m encountering an issue while following the Microsoft Fabric Healthcare Data Solutions tutorial.

During the deployment step, I receive the following  error:

Steps to error:

  1. Created workspace named FL HC Cloud.
  2. Selected "New item".
  3. Filter and select the "Healthcare data solutions" option.

The "Creating Solutions" status shows just before the error.

I’ve double-checked my configurations and followed the steps in the tutorial closely. I also cleared my browser cache, retried the deployment, and checked for any known issues, but the error persists.

Has anyone experienced this issue or can offer guidance on how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

  • Hello ashelby

First, ensure your Fabric workspace is using Runtime 1.2 (Apache Spark 3.4 and Delta Lake 2.4), as healthcare data solutions do not support Runtime 1.3

    Common Issues and Solutions:
    1. If the solution creation fails or takes longer than 5 minutes, this typically occurs when:
    • Another healthcare solution shares the same name
    • A solution was recently deleted
Resolution: Wait 30-60 minutes before attempting another deployment if you recently deleted a solution.

try using an incognito/private browsing window

This is troubleshooting guide please have a look.

DataBard and nilendraFabric thank you for your replies. I think both helped me to get a little closer.

    • I'm in the North Central US which appears to be on the list so I think I'm ok there.
    • I currently have a free trial with 64 CU. I used it last week to go through all the content and execises for the DP-700 Microsoft Learning course without issue, so I shouldn't have any permission issues for this solution?
    • I was indeed using the default 1.3 (Spark 3.5, Delta 3.2), so I switched it over to 1.2 (Spark 3.4, Delta 2.4).
    • While in the Admin Portal I discovered and enabled an option under Tenant Settings called "Users can create Healthcare Cohort items (preview)."
    • I tried several variations of creating the work space, then changing the version setting, then logging in and out (after clearing cache and using incognito mode).

Unfortunately I'm still receiving the same error. I'll re-read all the material you both provided me again to make sure I'm not missing anything. I'll also wait a few hours in case it's still hanging onto the solutions I created previously.

Thanks again for helping get closer.

      Hi Anonymous

Unfortunately I'm still unable to find the final solution. nilendraFabric and DataBard replies were extremely helpful, such as changing the spark runtime, and directing me back to the troubleshooting documentation. However I've yet to deploy the Healthcare DataSolutions. I plan to continue looking into this over the next week or so and will update the community on when I'm able to deply the solution. Thank you everyone for all your help!
