Hi,
I’ve been exploring connection management in Fabric, and noticed there’s currently no straightforward way to tell whether a connection is using a Key Vault reference or storing credentials directly.
I tried to get this programmatically using the Fabric REST API (connections), but both types of connections look identical there’s no property or flag showing whether a connection uses a Key Vault reference.
Not knowing which connections use KV references makes auditing and governance harder. And we don't know which connection to update with KV reference.
Has anyone found a reliable way to differentiate these connections?
Any tips, undocumented APIs, or best practices for identifying them would be very helpful.
Regards,
Bharath Kumar S

Hi @Bharath_Kumar_S,
To my knowledge, the service treats these connections as the same. I've not been able to identify any way to tell them apart programatically.
