Creating Shortcut in fabric to Datalake, Getting invalid Credentials but my credentials are correct

I have just created a basic data lake for testing in Azure

And I am trying to create a shortcut to it but I log in and it says Invalid Credentials,

My credentials are definitely correct. i have provided the email, pw and invalidated with authenticator.

I feel like this error isnt giving me the right information but can anyone help get me past this?

Thanks

  • Hi DebbieE - Thanks for posting to the community.  I understand you created a new lakehouse and are now trying to create a shortcut.

    • Are you trying to create a shortcut in the same lakehouse that you just created?
    • What are you trying to create the shortcut to (what is the target)?
    • Are you the owner of the target resource connection or has it been shared with you?

Imagine you currently have these Fabric artifacts:

    • A lakehouse named "Contoso Lakehouse"
    • A lakehouse named "Adventure Works Lakehouse"
    • A cloud connection to an ADLS Gen2 account named "Sales".

If you'd like to have one lakehouse that has shortcuts to each of the Fabric artifacts listed above, do this:

    • Create a new lakehouse - we'll call this 'Bronze Lakehouse'.
    • Open Bronze Lakehouse.
    • Click Get Data > New Shortcut
    • Choose Microsoft OneLake, select Contoso Lakehouse and then choose the location in the lakehouse that you'd like to be used as the target for the shortcut.
    • Repeat for Adventure Works Lakehouse.
    • Repeat for ADLS Gen2, but choose ADLS Gen2 instead of Microsoft OneLake.

If you encounter an error or a challenge in creating the shortcuts using steps like I've listed, please reply with more information about the step at which you encountered the issue and include screenshots so I can continue to assist.
