Copy Data Activity - Issues and saying not found target file path
Hi, so I am doing a copy data activity to copy a CSV in a Lakehouse located in another workspace, and the sink is a Lakehouse in my current workspace.
Source
Sink
The error I consistently keep getting is
```ErrorCode=LakehouseOperationFailed,'Type=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Common.Shared.HybridDeliveryException,Message=Lakehouse operation failed for: Operation returned an invalid status code 'NotFound'. Workspace: '018787d1-bbcd-40fc-98c5-0d5c14bb061c'. Path: '9cf423b8-ea8b-4a96-aa77-da9bc91e59f2/Files/SourceDataControl/SourceDataControl.csv'. Message: 'Not Found'. TimeStamp: 'Wed, 10 Jun 2026 14:22:11 GMT'..,Source=Microsoft.DataTransfer.ClientLibrary,''Type=Microsoft.Azure.Storage.Data.Models.ErrorSchemaException,Message=Operation returned an invalid status code 'NotFound',Source=Microsoft.DataTransfer.ClientLibrary,'```
The Workspaces and Artifacts GUIDs are the ones in my current workspace so it seems to be failing on the sink side, am I doing something wrong in my configuration?
Hello hsa297 I noticed that in the File extension setting you have .txt - if your file is .csv as the name suggests, "SourceDataControl.csv", shouldn't this be set to .csv instead? Could you change this setting and try again please?
Also, check if you can use Preview data to inspect the contents of the source file.- hsa297New Member
The file extension used to name the output files. It will be ignored if the output file name is configured.
Since I specify a file name this is overridden, aditionally with delimited files it is defaulted to a .txt.
So I do not think this is the case here
Troubleshooting Steps:
Could you share:
The source and sink types (e.g., SQL → Lakehouse, CSV → Lakehouse)?
Whether this is a Fabric Data Pipeline or Copy Activity.
If possible please screenshot of the sink configuration ?
This will help me to identify the issue is related to the Lakehouse path, permissions, or the artifact reference. - Yash8160Advocate I
first can you preview data in destination? if yes and it work then problem is in destination workspace connection
