Cancelled Notebooks are presented in Monitor as Successful???
Is it just me, or do others agree that the words "Succeeded" and "Cancelled" are opposite of each other? Sometimes I think the Fabric U/I experience was built by non-native english speakers. How can they get something so wrong as this? Especially something this basic.
I cancelled a notebook right after it launched. Normally it runs for 20 mins but when I cancelled it finished in two. What is confusing is that the Monitor U/I happily presents it as having Succeeded.
If I dig a little more deeply, I can find the data item snapshots in the notebook that show where the notebook was cancelled. But the top-level Monitor thinks of this as a success. It makes me wonder how many of the other Notebook activities presented as "Succeeded" had actually died internally!!!
It bothers me that Microsoft puts such low effort into Spark in Fabric. Some companies want to use this tool for mission-critical workloads, but the platform can't be trusted. "Succeeded" and "Cancelled" mean two different things. Right?

Hi dbeavon3,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
It is a valid point that monitor hub should correctly specify the status of the activity as your monitor hub incorrectly shows the status for the cancelled notebook run, it is advisable to open a support ticket with Microsoft, who can check the logs to see what exactly is going wrong and fix the underlying issue. Please refer below link on how to raise a contact support or support ticket.

Hi v-menakakota
I think this is the way they designed it. I can't wrap my head around why they did so.
Can you think of any user who wants their cancelled jobs to appear as if it "succeeded"?

Hi dbeavon3 ,
The root cause of the issue was a design limitation, while the Monitoring Hub and the Capacity Metrics app both report on notebook activity, they do so in different ways. This caused inconsistent status displays. The issue has been identified as a product bug, and will be addressed soon by the Product Group (PG) team.
Can you please confirm whether you have raised support ticket.
