Hi,
There are 2 data engineers working in Fabric. I am the owner of all artifacts in the workspace.
I can branch out to a new workspace and sync from DevOps/Git and be able to develop.
My colleague is also an admin of both the capacity and the workspace.
My colleague is able to create a workspace and a new branch, but syncing from Git fails with an unhelpful error message, so no artifacts are created in the new workspace.
Please help
Well I raised a support ticket on this and while trying to replicate the issue, our main development branch finally synced into a new workspace (minus the dataflows etc.)
So I wonder if some bug has been squashed at last, which is great news
But, saying that, what has been synced in the development workspace is just random parts of the branch - 4 out of 10 warehouses, no lakehouses... I think it's still syncing, 3 hours later...
Ignore me while I go and talk to Mindtree!
Hi @bw_chec
Please check whether the direction from the troubleshooting article (Troubleshoot the Fabric lifecycle management tools. - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn) helps.
Description of problem: When branching out to a new workspace, I’m navigated to the new workspace but Git integration isn’t enabled there. Cause: The Git integration switch might be enabled for your source workspace, but not for the whole tenant as the tenant admin can delegate control of the switch to workspace admins. If this is the case, your new workspace won't have Git integration enabled and you'll need to manually enable it from the workspace settings before syncing the workspace with Git. Solution: Enable Git integration from the workspace settings of your new workspace.

I would try raising a support ticket with Microsoft and see what they say. We've got hundreds of objects now in Fabric and I can't even clone my branch into an empty workspace.
Hi there
It's never worked for us. Whatever we try we get an error with git. Either duplicate object or some other error.
After wasting valuable business time on trying to get it working, we're now using 1 workspace solely for all the non-Power BI work (which sucks)
Still waiting to hear on a fix to this from Microsoft.
How are teams greater than 1 able to work on separate projects effectively?
VS Code extension is very unhelpful and terrible for development.
The company has invested a lot of money in transitioning to Fabric and this is a major issue.
