I have three tables device name, device details and User details, want to display device details in a slicer based on the user logged in. I have already set up RLS.
Could anyone help me on this?
@Anonymous , Hope device details is fact joined to the User and the user is having email or joined with the RLS table having email and RLS/User table is filtering the device details.
If join is bidirectional, security filter option should be checked
You need to have a role like
email = userprincipalname()
How to use Row Level Security (RLS): https://youtu.be/NfdIA0uS6Nk
Basically i have connected the user table and device facts table by the User ID. i have also created a measure and set up RLS. still do not see the devices getting filtered.
@amitchandak Thanks in advance!
Hi , @Anonymous
According to your screenshot,you seem to have configured the corresponding RLS.
To test dynamic RLS on Desktop, you need to click "View Row" and select the role you configured, and check User and enter the corresponding username to test whether RLS is configured successfully.
If this sitll dose not work , you need to check the relationship and the configuration for rls and model relationships, for more information, you can refer to :
