Subtotal On Matrix Visual Not Adding up

dc52_0-1719328168259.png

I am having a problem with subtotals on a matrix visual. I did not use any measures and just dragged the fields from the data which counts the number of students in each given category. The Grand Total is correct, but the total for each school does not add up to the totals.

Hi @dc52 ,

Based on my testing, the total for each school has added to the total.

Drag the field into the matrix visual.

The school total is added.

Try to check if having the filter or slicers applied to the matrix visual.

Besides, try to review the aggregation field. Power BI defaults to sum the numeric fields.

This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

I am not currently using any DAX measures for this table. It is just a COUNT of variables I placed in the Values field
