Span of Control dynamic filter

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a way to improve my data model and I'm losing my mind.

What I want to do in the canvas:

5 tables like the 2 above. In table 1, when you click on the manager's name, Table 2 will show his direct reports names. Then you click on the direct reports name in table 2, and table 3 will show the direct reports' direct reports... and so on. Kinda like an organogram.

To be able to do this filtering, I built the below data model. Dataset SpanControl is replicated and each dataset is connected to each of the above tables.

It does its job but it's a stupid data model and not scalable. I cannot think of a way to use only one dataset instead of 5.

Help please!
