SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR function begins at wrong period

Hi All,

I am attempting to do a YOY change in power bi. When I use the SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR function, the returns are off. 

Headers: 

period, % esr, % esy sply, yoy change

As you can see, the SPLY=the current period. I am unsure how to make it begin at the next year's period.

Is the Period column coming from a Date dimension table?

Also, please can you share your DAX expressions for the '% esr' and '% esr sply' measures?
