Running total for previous year and month

Hello, Please help. I am trying to calculate the running total for not only the previous year but previous month a well.  This what I have to calculate for the previous year but thats all it gives me. When I add months onto my column then it still only shows the year.

Running Total Customers LY/Month =

CALCULATE (

[Running Total],

FILTER (

     ALLSELECTED(dim_DATE),

     dim_DATE[DATE].[Year] <= SELECTEDVALUE(dim_DATE[DATE].[Year]) -1

   ) 

)

Hi @TexasBI ,

If I understand correctly, you want to show the measure Running Total for the same month in the previous year?

For example, September 2012 should be 3,544,086.53?

Then you can try:

Running Total Customers LY/Month =

CALCULATE (
[Running Total],
SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR(dim_DATE[DATE])
)
