Rls

Please can anyone suggest how to implement dynamic RLS in Powerbi service so that external user can see only their data.

I am trying to set up role wherein it checks the login email is same as USERPRINCIPALNAME.

The user table stores the email id as abcd@fakeorg.com.

The MS Active directory has the user set up as abcd_fakeorg.com#ext#@trytowork.onmicrosoft.com

What DAX can I apply and where and how

@tryto Your security table will need to have the email address match whatever is returned by USERPRINCIPALNAME.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

@Greg_Deckler  please can you guide me if there is any DAX that I can formulate that checks the email id of the user before the "@" sign and formats the user email to Same as the UPN.

Hi @tryto

As Greg_Deckler said, your security table need to have the email addresses returned by USERPRINCIPALNAME. But for Analysis Services data sources, you can configure custom UPN rules. Please read this article,
