Hi,
I’m a new BI user and this is my second post. I have 10 tables total (see the breakdown below) and have provided the tables with active relationships. My question: what do I need to so that the measures found in tables E-G can be used by other tables, specifically by tables A-D when I build my visualizations? Is it possible to extract the measures found in tables E-G to create a new table and this new will have an active relationship with tables A-D? I cannot make any of the current relationships inactive. Thank you in advance for any guidance/assistance provided.
Table A – active relationship with Table E via ID
Table B – active relationship with Table E via ID
Table C – active relationship with Table E via ID
Table D – active relationship with Table E via Name
Table E – active relationship with Table C via ID and with Table G via Name (Table E has a max date formula, a conditional column, and a measure)
Table F – active relationship with Table B via Name (Table F has a max date formula, a conditional column, and a measure)
Table G – table has a max date formula, a conditional column, and a measure
Table H – active relationship with Table G via ID
Table I - active relationship with Table G via ID
Table J - active relationship with Table G via ID
Hi @SAP4026 welcome to Power BI world. Reuse of measure is all about it - that is crutial: reusage for different tables.
How to create measures in Power BI you could find here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-tutorial-create-measures
There is also special function in DAX USERELATIONSHIP for case there is inactive relationship
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/userelationship-function-dax
I hope this help
