Hi All - hoping for some assistance here with Ranking on couple of dimensional attributes
I've a requirement to show top 10 projects that will have certain types of impact.
I've a table about projects and go live dates and impacts looking like this (dates are dd/mm/yyyy)
Since the table creation in this forum cannot be more than 10 rows, for argument's sake lets work on top 5
| Project Name | Go live date | Impact | Ranking | |||
| Project1 | 11/08/2021 | H | 1 | |||
| Project2 | 23/08/2021 | H | 1 | |||
| Project3 | 25/09/2021 | H | 1 | |||
| Project4 | 29/09/2021 | H | 1 | |||
| Project5 | 02/10/2021 | M | 2 | |||
| Project6 | 15/10/2021 | M | 2 | |||
| Project7 | 31/10/2021 | M | 2 |
So from above the requirement is just to show the top 5 entries. Upto Project5. I dont want the remaining entries.
Hope that is sufficient info to help me out.
Thank you

Where is the ranking coming from? Is it in the table?

Wow!! Are you suggesting to get only top N rows of the list, I need to write such a long complicated DAX?
Isn't it an over kill?
..........Were my thoughts when I saw your response. But then I thought of trying it out.
And it worked.
Thanks a lot @Greg_Deckler That was really helpful.
Thanks
@Anonymous Glad someone could use that formula because it was a total PITA to write it!!
