Hello everyone, I have a question about uneven hierarchies.
Is it possible to display several (2 or 3) unequal hierarchies in one visual?
For example, an organization- with an accounting-hierarchy
With one this is no problem, but if I add a second one, the elements of the second one are not displayed in the first one (if the lowest element of the first one does not go to the last level).
Is there a best practice?
Thank you very much
Frank
Solved! Go to Solution.
Unfortunately, displaying multiple uneven (or jagged) hierarchies in a single visual in Power BI might not be supported, because standard visuals like tables, charts, and matrices expect data to conform to uniform levels of hierarchy. When hierarchies do not align perfectly—such as in cases where one hierarchy is deeper than another—it can lead to display and interpretation issues within the visual.
You can explore the Power BI Visuals Marketplace for custom visuals that are designed to handle uneven hierarchies more gracefully than the default set of visuals. Some visuals are specifically designed for complex data structures and might offer the flexibility you need.

Jayleny

Hi Jayleny,
Thank you for your quick reply.
It's a shame on the one hand, but on the other I can now stop trying to make it work somehow.
Thanks
Frank
