Power Query date conversion not working even after using "Chnage Type with locale (english-India)
My sales date Column shows dates like 14/04/2017, but even after using Transorm-Data type-Using locale-English(india). The dates are not converting correctly (still showing US format).
Hi Karthagurunadam ,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
Power BI displays date values based on the Windows regional settings, even if you change the locale within Power BI Desktop.
If you need the dates to appear in Indian format (dd/MM/yyyy), you can create a custom column in Power Query using: Date.ToText([Sales_Date], "dd/MM/yyyy") and use that column in your visuals.
A similar behavior has been discussed in community thread such as Solved: Changing date format that won't change with region... - Microsoft Fabric Community and is also mentioned in Microsoft’s supported languages and regions documentation , which notes that Power BI derives its default format from the Windows regional settings.
Hope this helps. Please reach out for further assistance.
Thank you.

There's no such locale. Use "in-IN" or "en-GB"
