IF STATEMENT NOT ACCEPTING TABLE NAME IN CUSTOM COLUMN FORMULA

Would appreciate assistance with a custom column and trying to create that references values in another column using an IF statement as follows:

IF ('MEDICAL'[DX_1] IN DISTINCT 'MH_ICD10_CODES'[MH_ICD10_CODES],"Y","N"))

Unfortunately, the formula does not recognize the table MEDICAL and underlines the letter C with a ~ in Red.

The table name is correct and exist in the data schema.

Any suggestions as to why PBI is not recognizing this table name in the custom formula will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @pbianalyst ,

I think you use dax in Power Query Editor. We need to use M code to create custom column.

My Sample:

3.png

Try this code:

if List.Contains(MH_ICD10_CODES[MH_ICD10_CODES],[DX_1]) = true then "Y" else "N"

Result is as below.

@pbianalyst , Try like

IF ('MEDICAL'[DX_1] IN DISTINCT('MH_ICD10_CODES'[MH_ICD10_CODES]),"Y","N")
