Help with GENERATE SERIES/FILTER/CALCULATE

Hi

I am new to this and struggling with how to use GENERATE SERIES to filter a table.

I have a numeric column in a table named tblSelection[Age of Company].

I have used GENERATESERIES to create a new table of a range of values for tblSelection[Age of Company]*0.9 to tblSelection[Age of Company]*1.1

GENERATESERIES(min(tblSelection[AGE OF COMPANY])*0.9,max(tblSelection[AGE OF COMPANY])*1.1)

I am then trying to filter a column in a second table tblMatches[Age of Company] where the numeric value falls between the min and max values above.

I can't do it and am probably going about it in completely the wrong way!

Please can anyone offer some help?

@dpotta , if you are creating a slicer using this new table and try to filter , then you have to create it as a measure as column will not take the slicer value.

Hi Amit

I can see you are very knowledgeable and I am not.

All I am trying to do is filter a table where the values in the column tblMatches[Age of Company] fall between two values:

the first is the tblSelection[AGE OF COMPANY])*0.9

and the second the (tblSelection[AGE OF COMPANY])*1.1)

Obviously you know when to use GENERATESERIES and I do not.

How do I filter the tblMatches with these criteria?

Many thanks
