Filtering a child visual based on selectedvalue in parent visual

This one seems easy but is driving me battie.   I have a table with three columns,  Name/ WBS/Parent WBS   I have a visual with all the data.   When I select a row in visual 1,  I want the WBS...

    Found the same question on an earlier forum with no answer.  Confirmed a workaround but no elegant solutions unfortunately.  Perhaps Hierarchies across visuals will be a future feature.  My workaround was on PQ.

Please provide sample data (with sensitive information removed) that covers your issue or question completely, in a usable format (not as a screenshot). Leave out anything not related to the issue.
