Do custom data labels work with small multiples?

I created a bar chart and I want to show custom data labels for the sum and count of a column.

The first screenshot here shows the default data labels

The second screenshot here shows that the labels disappear when i enable the custom labels.

Below is the DAX for my custome label

EDIT 1 

For my bar chart,

y-axis: text column with 3 unique values

x-axis: sum of a value

legend: text column with 2 unique values

small multiples: text column with 2 unique values

Do custom labels not work with small multiples or did i do something wrong?

@Anonymous , Change the display unit to none and check.

But there are some issues with this in the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
