Given the choice between Alteryx and DAX, which is the preferred method ?

Alteryx - think SSIS. Are there reasons to use SSIS (visual designer) over DAX (scripting) ?
I guess DAX is visual in a sense that you see the results but there's no sense of a data flow.

@Anonymous I never used ALTERYX, what you are trying to achieve? I found DAX is very powerful but without knowing the requirement and also I never used ALTERYX, not sure what to tell.
