Create data table using slicer selection

Hi,

I will really appreciate help with this problem.

I want to create a new data table, Table 2, based on slicer selection of an existing table, Table 1.

Table 1 contains a variable called "Type", which contains the following values (A, B, C, D).

I want the newly created data table, Table 2, to have a variable also called "Type", which will contain just 2 values. One of the values is "Y", the other value is the value selected by the slicer.

This means one of the values in Table 2 will be constant, which is "Y", the other value will be dynamic depending on slicer selection of Table 1 values.

  •  When you create a calculated table in a table, any selection that you make on your report canvas is not known to the formula in the calculated table because what's happens is the order in which the stages take place. First the model is completed then the tables are ready for report building. Try to build a measure instead which can make use of the slicer selection. I hope this is clear.

  • hi AO1 ,

that can't be all the story. what do you plan to do with table2?

BTW, calculated table/column is not supposed to respond any visual actions, like slicer selections.
