Count number of doctors who had cases in a month or year

I am trying to get a measure to get a count of the number of doctors who had cases in a given month or year.  Here I calculated the number of doctors in excel.

I can send you the data in excel, but I have not had good luck posting the files using dropbox.  Let me know if you need that and I will try

I have a date table in my model constructed using Calendarauto.

Hi,

I am not sure how your datamodel looks like, but I tried to create a sample pbix file like below.

Please check the below picture and the attached pbix file.

I hope the below can provide some ideas on how to create a solution for your datamodel.

Expected result measure: =
VAR _countsum =
    SUM ( Data[Count] )
VAR _doctorcount =
    COUNTROWS ( SUMMARIZE ( Data, Doctor[Doctor] ) )
RETURN
    IF ( HASONEVALUE ( Doctor[Doctor] ), _countsum, _doctorcount )
