Hi All - I have report based on Dynamic M Parameter(direct query) and want to clear slicers and filters( Cross Filters) . I have created button by following this video Clear ALL Filters Button in Power BI (ONE Click to Remove Filters) (youtube.com) however , after clicking the "clear all filters" button it resets to intial selection but we are looking for clearing filters and slicer in current selection i.e
1) Report is based on Dynamic M Parameter and created by using this -- Passing Any Arbitrary Value From A Power BI Report To A Dynamic M Parameter (crossjoin.co.uk)
2) By Default, report shows data for SalesOrderNumber (ABC) and User can input different SalesOrderNumber to see the data
SalesOrderNumber column is exposed as "filter on all pages". Allowed to input single SalesOrderNumber Only.
2.1) Consider User Opens Report and it shows data for SalesOrderNumber = ABC ( ==> Implemented "Clear All Filters" Button at this step)
2.2) User input SalesOrderNumber = DEF(Filter on all pages) and report loads with corresponding SalesOrderNumber and perfom slicer selections and cross filtering to understand the sales. ( Slicer selections and cross filtering still exists)
2.3) User is intersted to see different SalesNumber, Clicking on "Clear All Filters" button resets the data to SalesOrderNumber = ABC, at this step is there way to still show data for SalesOrderNumber =DEF by clearing slicer selection and cross filters i.e Page level filter still shows (SalesOrderNumber = DEF) but only cross filtering and slicer selection will be cleared.
Please suggest if there any alternative solutions here
Thanks,
Abhiram
Hi @abhiram342 ,
Thank you for giving the specific operation steps. Based on your description, I think you can achieve the desired effect with Bookmarks by following steps.
Please follow these steps:
1. Set up your slicers and filters as desired (SalesOrderNumber = DEF).
2.In View, click on Bookmarks and Add to create a new bookmark, and name the bookmark (e.g., “SalesOrderNumber DEF”).
3.Check the boxes for “Data” and “Display” to capture both slicer selections and visual states.
4. Use the Buttons feature to link this bookmark to a button, effectively creating a "Clear slicers and cross filters" button that maintains your specific filter.
If you want to learn more about Bookmarks, click Create report bookmarks in Power BI to share insights and build stories - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.
If you encounter any challenges while implementing this solution or have further questions, could you please share more details with pictures about the specific steps you've taken so far and any error messages or unexpected behaviors you're experiencing? This will help in diagnosing the issue more effectively.
Best Regards,
Caroline Mei
