Calculating Inventory Value- Power BI Help

Hi All,

I require some asssitance in perfomring a task using DAX for Power BI. Inventory system is Microsft Dynmaincs 365 BC. 

Power BI creating of a dashboard of inventory value and QTY over time. 

This would equate to highligting the per month inventory value and qty and then being able to select the month previously and view the type of items which inventory was held. 

Using table via item ledger for qty and value entry for value, however im stuck in attempting to show the monhtly value previously using the value table as each month is a total of postivies and negatives but when using DAX measures im unable to group the value of cost of inventory by month.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
