What would be the dax expression to create a measure named "Max" so that i would get the following.
i.e If Value in "Sum of Sales Amount" column equals Maximum Value of "Sum of Sales Amount" column, then the value itself, otherwise a blank.

You may also try
Amount Max =
VAR MaxAmount =
MAXX ( ALLSELECTED ( TableName[Year] ), [Sum of Sales Amount] )
RETURN
IF ( [Sum of Sales Amount] = MaxAmount, MaxAmount )
Same table, Sir.
Please try
Amount Max =
CALCULATE (
MAXX ( ALLSELECTED ( TableName[Year] ), [Sum of Sales Amount] ),
KEEPFILTERS ( TableName[Year] )
)
You may also try
Amount Max =
VAR MaxAmount =

RETURN
IF ( [Sum of Sales Amount] = MaxAmount, MaxAmount )
