Developing a Control Chart

How can this NOT be included with PowerBI?!?  Control Charts are one of the foundational reasons to visualize data.

Also, I assume stages is optional, if we're only interested in "regular" xbar charts?

Microsoft doesn't have any plans to include this visual as a native Power BI visual at least for now.

You should propose this idea at Power BI Ideas.

@tcd1nc This is a great add for the gaps within PowerBI. I am surprised that Contol Charts aren't higher in the idea voting.

A few quick questions:
1. Can the data limit be increased? We are dealing with data sets with 200k points within several subsets.

2. Can the option be added to show all SD on the chart from 1 to 3 simultaneously and format their colours?
3. There are several bugs mentioned on GitHub. When do you anticipate the highlights outside of the control limits will be fixed? And would it be possible to add a highlight for 7 consecutivevalues above or below the mean as a highlight?

I have never coded anything like these visuals and do not understand how they work but would be keen to collaborate on getting these options within the visual as they would allow us to remove our reliance on PQSystems software and add this to our Dashboard Reports which are important to Infrastructure Management.

 Data limit can be increased with commensurate reduction in performance. Current limit is 5000 but that can be increased to whatever limit PowerBI has.

Adding all SD's onto one chart which might have say 20 different stages, would make the chart very busy and very slow on large data sets. The additional complexity has not been considered and is not planned.

I dont know what bugs are on Github. The control was updated in August this year (2018) so anything before that is likely to have some issues with bad data and failing to nicely reject it and few minor issues with mouse-over.

Many people have emailed me about the control and the response has been positive. Some recent tweaks to the x-axis labels to allow rotation were the last modification.

Ignat, if there is an easy way to add to AppSource i will add it. Otherwise if i have to got through some sort of code approval, vetting of the code or create a special url and on-going support, then forget it. The control was developed to fill a major gap in PowerBI's offering and works adequately in most situations.  Feel free to use the code in the PBI community, as its open source (can't make it private in PowerBI anyway) and can be used as the basis for a better control!

The control has been updated and is on my Github site. There was a typo in the rules that prevented rules 2 and 3 operating and that has been corrected. I have also increased the categorical categories data reduction limit from 5000 to 10000.
