Current State: You can right click a value on a visual and choose INCLUDE or EXCLUDE. This adds a VISUAL-level filter in the filter pane.
IDEA:
- It would be awesome if we also had an option for "INCLUDE @ Page Level" and "Exclude @ Page Level."
- For example: If you right click "INCLUDE @ Page Level" something like one of these options happens...
- Field is NOT set up as page-level filter = Field is added as a page-level filter
- Field was already set up as page-level filter = Existing page-level filter criteria is updated
- Field was already set up as page-level filter = secondary page-level filter is added for that value
Benefits:
- Quick way to apply a page filter while you are exploring data and interacting with visuals (vs pausing to hunt through the filter pane or page slicers).
- Often times you discover that your report does not have the page filter you need set up. This can mean that you have to bother the report owner and ask them to add the page filter. Also the page-filter may be a one-off need and we dont want to save it amongst the other common page-level filters we already have saved in the report. This idea makes it so you dont need a report designer to add the filter... and it also makes temporary.
