Thanks for your feedback.
You should follow these steps to implement the highlighting:
- Include the supportsHighlight property to the capabilities.json
- Parse the highlights property of data-view to apply an external selection to your custom visual (you might use powerbi-visuals-utils-interactivityutils instead)
