PowerBI Report Metrics Display in SharePoint
Hi Olufemi7 ,
I double checked that the report was embedded using the Power BI web part with the SharePoint Online embed link and the report is also not displaying/working for the Workspace Admin... Any other ideas on the issue?
Thank you!
Hello SabCost,
This scenario is typically related to access or configuration rather than the report itself in Microsoft Power BI Service.
If the report works for some users but not others, it usually indicates:
- Users must have access to both the report and the underlying dataset
- Users must be signed into Power BI and SharePoint with the same account
- A Power BI Pro license is required unless the workspace is backed by Premium capacity
(Refer to the documentation shared earlier for full details.)
However, since you confirmed the report is not displaying even for the Workspace Admin, this points to a different cause. Please check:
- The report is embedded using “Embed in SharePoint Online” (not a standard link or Publish to web)
- Test in an InPrivate/Incognito browser session to rule out authentication or caching issues
- Regenerate the embed link and reconfigure the SharePoint web part
- Ensure the SharePoint page is published
- Verify browser settings (e.g., third-party cookies are not blocked)
- Confirm tenant settings allow embedding in SharePoint
If the issue persists even for Admin after these checks, it is most likely due to:
- Authentication/session mismatch
- Browser or tenant restriction
- Invalid or stale embed configuration
If possible, please share the complete error message text, as that will help identify the exact root cause more quickly.
