Power KPI Matrix - Inconsistent Formatting
Are you testing in Power BI Desktop?
PBI Desktop is for editing only. That means Power KPI Matrix uses current filter + settings set.
If you want to persist settings in Edit mode you should enable Format Panel -> Table -> Keep Series Settings On Filtering In Edit Mode.
If this option is enabled you won't be able to change settings.

Hi I am having a similar issue where I am not allowed to change the formatting for a particular row of a kpi power matrix. I have 4 rows of data, for the first two, I would like the auto-formatting for the display units (or I can fix the units also), for the last two I would like no formatting. I can change the first row to Auto, but cannot adjust the second row. It simply changes the value back. I did turn off the Keep Series Settings thing. If I clear all filters, it allows me to change the settings, but as soon as I select a filter again, it switches back to No formatting for display units- only for that one row, the first row still keeps its formatting. I even remade the graphic with no filters at all, changed the display units formatting to be what I wanted, and then when I added one of the filters, the units formatting changed back to None. BTW- the values displayed in the different rows all have the exact same formatting in the dataset itself.
