Hi folks,
With Charticulator's announcement to retire their website and application by the end of the year and transition to open source, I'm curious about the impact on Power BI visuals created using Charticulator. What will happen to these visuals, and are there any changes or considerations we should be aware of for our Power BI projects? Your insights and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, after the original Charticulator visual was retired, Ilfat Galiev took over the project and has been developing it for some time.
He recently published a blog post on BIBB about the new Charticulator and the two Power BI visuals.
Charticulator Visual Community: A New Chapter in Custom Visual Design
I wanted to bring up the recent announcement regarding Charticulator's decision to retire their website and application by the end of the year and transition to open source. This has raised questions about the potential impact on Power BI visuals that were created using Charticulator:https://rewritemyessay.us/. We're curious about what will happen to these visuals and whether there are any changes or considerations we should be mindful of for our Power BI projects. Any insights and guidance on this matter would be highly valued.
(certified) visuals are contained within the javascript of the .pbiviz file, so they will not be affected. If you want you can extract the .pbiviz from the .pbix container for versioning and/or safekeeping (if you are concerned that the visual would disappear from the marketplace). You would have to check licensing restrictions, but you could consider making these organizational visuals in your tenant.
As they mention on the website there is hope that someone else would take over the development.
On a philosophical level I don't understand the concept behind Charticulator well enough to judge if it has staying power. It is certainly a very different approach from Vega Lite/Deneb and ggplot. I liked that you have options, and it would be nice to keep these different options.
