I have develop some custom visuals that I'm planning to distribuite across my user base, but I'm making some test bench to implement some E2E tests.
Is it possible to install a .pbiviz file using command line (or any other way that does not involve opening PBI Desktop just like the connectors that need to place the files in the "Custom connectors folder") or the only ways is using the "Get more visuals" > "Import a visual from a file" menu?
Hi @ECorona,
If your visual isn't deployed to AppSource (which would auto-update next time a report is opened after the update has been successfully deployed to all CDNs by MS), this sounds like the exact kind of scenario that the organizational visuals store in your tenant could solve (and should do the same thing if you update it there).
If you absolutely have to overwrite a .pbiviz in a workbook, this may be possible if using .pbip, as any non-AppSource visuals are stored in a report's [Report Name].Report\CustomVisuals[Visual GUID] folder.
Regards,
Daniel
