Formatting Raw Data on a Scatter Chart

I saw this on a discussion forum but don't know how to get this type of visualization. I am messing with pay rate vs time data. I would like each employee to show up as a dot. It only lets me summarize the data through aggregation. I could use a legend for each of the employees to show up but I have a legend dimension I want to see already. Any suggestions? Should I use a different visualization than the scatter charts? Am I overlooking something that could help m,e group my data by employee ID?

scatter plots love numeric data.  Instead of employee names use a numeric index column from the employees table.
