Good day. I have built a dashboard that has a simple matrix table. I have added slicers to filter the data. That all works perfectly. My table has 6 columns, one named Items. Here is an Excel mock up of the table:
I have a dropdown slicer for the Items column and if I select Item 3 the table is filtered to only show those that have Item 3 associated with them as follows (notice Combo 00002_0002 has been filtered out):
What I would like to do is perform this same function but instead of having to use the dropdown slicer, I want the filter to occur if the person using the dashboard clicks Item 3 anywhere in the matrix itself.
I dabbled with "Edit Interactions" a bit but that doesn't seem to be the correct path in this case.
Is this even possible?
Thanks.
No, not possible. It violates the UX guidelines.
Thank you Ibendlin. Not the answer I was hoping for but glad to know that there is a reason I couldn't figure it out. Learning is wonderful. Happy Holidays my friend.
