Abstract Map Shapefiles as an alternative to geographically accurate map visualisations
I'm just throwing this out there as I don't have time to create the shapefiles or learn to develop the visualisations to make this happen, but I came across this abstract map of Europe a while back and I would definitely use a world map version as a custom shapefile for visualisaions (much easier to identify particular countries than a geographically accurate map)
