Hi Data Lovers
This it's my final entry, as always I have learned a lot more about PowerBI , If you know me, you might know that I love Deneb and of course, Html Content, so used these custom visual , for some graphs and html for the storytelling and quick insighs , shout out the lastest Finalist Gus Bavia , your last entry gave me a lot ideas , and also to Daniel Guevara.
I used AI (Claude) to help my with the storytelling and some of the deneb charts.
I do hope you guys like it. 🙂
Vamos!! 🇨🇴

Hi, this is really impressive. Would you be able to share you pbix file with me? Email - siddhant.singh9998@gmail.com
Nice HTML skills! Please share your pbix!
The report looks good. but the data in "Analysis" is incorrect.
It seems you used a table that is not loaded into the dataset (athlete medals).
For example, Michael Phelps is shown with 16 medals, when he actually has 28. Same with Larisa and the rest of athletes.
I only noticed this issue in that specific table, thats why probably it wasnt loaded
In fact.. there's a problem with the databases. Once you link 'results' with 'results_athlete' (they're the same base) you see that there's a lot of missing information.
That's why if you try to recreate the Phelps career using 'results' you can only find 13 medals. I faced that problem, it only appears 13 times.
The 'athletes' database is complete but unlinkable with the others. Furthermore, athletes links are also incomplete and is used as a key to other bases..
Indeed, I crosschecked the two tables and the data its not the same,
Slindasy even mentioned it in the general chat :
Hi Juan, great report, really well done.
Are you planning to upload a walkthrough or guide to your channel?
Visually it’s excellent, but the incorrect medal data does take away some points, especially if you’re an Olympics fan. Any reason you didn’t use the Athletes table? It would’ve just been a matter of splitting the Medals column.
Hi Rampie, As I mentioned I cross checked the two tables and when I realized that the data its not accurate , I was going to ask to Lindsay , however there were a lot people with the same concern.
Having said this, if the idea was to find patterns and analyse the data over time I decided to go wit the Results Table for the medals insted of using the Athletes table, where we only have a summary of this
Rampie, the Athletes table doesn't resolve the issue as it creates a gap with the relationship between Games, Disciplines, Events and the actual medal. E.g. sure you can see 28 medals for michael phelps, however you can only see where he obtained 16 of those 28. There's an issue with the data, it's not the job of an intelligence analyst to fix data issues.
You’re absolutely right, an athlete’s full career cannot be completely reconstructed from the Results table,
That said, it would’ve been better to scope the analysis around the data that is reliable, rather than presenting visually strong insights on inaccurate numbers. Choosing accuracy over completeness is part of an intelligence analyst’s responsibility.
Well, in that case, I hope you noted that the entire results dataset is missing tonnes of discipline and event level data for literally every game ever held.
Good job! I love the clean look, it's so easy to read!
Hi! I am super impressed by the graphics you used in this report, would you be willing to send me a copy of your .pbix?
Simplemente maravilloso, muy buen trabajo.
