vehicle traffic data description
The vehicle traffic data records information about vehicle movement in different city areas at different times. This data is used to understand how many vehicles are on the road, which areas have heavy traffic, and how traffic changes during the day. It plays an important role in analysing road congestion, air pollution sources, and transportation planning.
This dataset contains five main columns: date, hour, area, vehicletype, and vehiclecount. Each column provides specific information that helps in traffic analysis.
The date column shows the day when the vehicle data was collected. It helps in studying daily traffic patterns and identifying trends over multiple days. For example, it can be used to compare weekday traffic with weekend traffic or to observe how traffic changes over time.
The hour column represents the time of day when vehicles were counted. This is useful for identifying peak traffic hours, such as morning and evening rush hours. By analysing traffic by hour, city planners can understand when roads are busiest and take steps to manage congestion better.
The area column shows the city zone where traffic was recorded, such as downtown or uptown. It helps identify high-traffic and high-pollution areas.
the vehicletype column indicates the type of vehicle, such as car, bike, or bus. It allows comparison between different vehicle categories.
The vehiclecount column shows the total number of vehicles recorded for a specific area, hour, and date. It is used to calculate traffic volume and congestion levels.
