Overview
This report examines the causal chain of anthropogenic climate change — from the emissions produced by human activity, to the warming observed in the climate system, and the physical consequences that follow.
Using open observational datasets from NOAA and Our World in Data covering the period 1880–2025, the analysis highlights long-term trends and acceleration patterns across emissions, global temperature, and sea level.
Together, these indicators reveal a historically unprecedented change in the observed climate record.
The narrative follows a clear progression:

What This Report Shows
- Global temperature anomalies relative to the 1971–2000 baseline (reaching +0.98 °C in 2024)
- CO₂ emissions across more than 200 countries and six major regions, enabling comparison of global and regional trajectories
- Global mean sea level rise (+246 mm since 1880) as a measurable physical consequence of warming
- Strong acceleration in warming rates over recent decades
- A very strong statistical relationship between global temperature and sea level rise (r² = 0.96)
