Week 2 - Life in a Warming World
Why I Joined the Power BI Challenge
For this challenge, I wanted to push myself beyond my usual analytical report format and experiment with a more narrative, infographic-style presentation. I deliberately chose a single, scrollable page to explore how data can guide the reader through a story, rather than asking them to explore it on their own.
My Approach
I spent considerable time searching for a clear angle. Climate change is a broad topic, and I wanted to avoid creating a collection of disconnected charts. I ultimately chose to focus on the Arctic, where warming trends are both pronounced and well-documented, and where local changes have global consequences.
To make the impact more tangible, the story narrows further to a species that many people immediately recognize: the polar bear. By connecting global temperature trends, Arctic amplification, ice loss, and sea-ice decline, the report moves from abstract climate signals to concrete ecological consequences.
