Week 2: Climate Change Impact Analysis

Climate change is not just a statistic. It’s people losing homes, livelihoods, and security, often with little insurance support and heavy dependence on aid, especially in developing countries. Seeing this reality clearly is the first step toward real change.

This Power BI dashboard tells a data-driven climate story connecting key indicators with an added focus on developing countries, which are the most impacted yet often overlooked. The goal was to move beyond generic global averages and highlight real impacts, scenario analysis, and provide risk management resources/tools that are available today.

I used Python to import World Bank data, providing users with analytical depth and enabling them to understand the consequences of climate change fully.

The dashboard uses a bold visual emphasis and a storybook-style narrative flow, guiding users from climate drivers to signals and finally to real-world impacts. I chose a storybook approach to balance strong data insights with interactive visuals that feel simple, engaging, and easy to understand. No custom visuals were used, only Power BI Desktop.

Interactive visuals highlight acceleration trends, inflection points, and cross-country disparities while maintaining accessibility through clear layout structure, contrast, and intuitive navigation.

It is designed not only for key stakeholders but also for anybody who wants to really understand the core of climate change.
