WEEK 2 | Climate Change Dashboard
This dashboard explores some of the most critical indicators of climate change at a global scale: CO₂ emissions, rising sea levels, and increasing global temperatures.
The goal is to visually illustrate how these phenomena evolve over time and how closely they are interconnected, using an intuitive and immersive analytical experience.
To build the custom world map, I used Scribble Maps and MapShaper, which allowed me to design and refine the geographical shapes manually before integrating them into Power BI. This step was key to achieving a map that fully fits the analytical and visual needs of the dashboard.
This project was developed as part of the Power BI World Cup, an experience that pushed me to go further and get closer to what I see as Power BI 2.0 — combining classic BI with HTML and advanced custom visuals.
In that regard, I learned a lot from the work of Gusbavia, especially during Week 1 Week1BriarportsUrbanPerformanceThroughanExecutive , which was a major source of inspiration for enhancing interactivity and visual storytelling.
While working on the world map, I also discovered Deneb. Its flexibility and expressive power make it a very promising tool, especially for advanced data visualizations. I clearly see a strong potential in Deneb, and I’m planning to leverage it even more in Round 3.
This project represents both a technical and creative step forward in my Power BI journey, blending data, design, and storytelling to raise awareness about global climate challenges.
