My entry for this week's challenge features data from the Valentine's Sales Dataset (Kaggle), which can be found here: Kaggle
The titles of the visuals are formulated as questions, and the subtitles partially provide the answers. All visuals used are core visuals in Power BI, enhanced with conditional formatting and DAX. I tried to ensure a logical tab order and provided dynamic alt text for all visuals.
Questions and Visuals:
- Question: Which age group spends the most by gender?
Visual Used: Stacked bar chart (formatted with conditional formatting & DAX to create a butterfly chart).
- Question: When are items sold?
Visual Used: Clustered column chart (with overlap).
- Question: How frequently are items searched versus bought?
Visual Used: Clustered column chart & line chart with leader lines (percentages).
- Question: Does location influence sales?
Visual Used: Line chart with large markers.
- Question: Who buys which items?
Visual Used: Clustered bar chart with small multiples.
I used no slicers, since all relevant information can be found by cross-filtering (clicking on the labels in the visuals).
