I’m Gabriel Ferrera, a senior at Bentley University in Massachusetts, USA, majoring in Computer Information Systems and Accounting with a Minor in Data Technologies. I started learning Power BI in the summer of 2025 and created this report to showcase both my analytical thinking and my visual/storytelling design skills. I’m still learning and experimenting, and this dashboard is part of my journey to grow as a data professional.

Page 1 – Welcome: Guiding Stars of Fabricland
The landing page sets the story: a magical world where students choose their future academy. The wizard, narrative text, and buttons invite users to either follow a guided College Match experience or jump straight to the Colleges Overview.
Page 2 – College Match
Here, students choose their preferences: campus setting, admission difficulty, student-life importance, and tuition sensitivity. A custom College Match Score recommends the best-fit academy, shown on a large card with artwork, crest, and key KPIs such as kingdom, focus area, tuition, starting salary, scholarships, and a short “match quality” message.
Page 3 – Program Paths
This page dives into the programs inside a chosen college. Users can view their matched academy or switch to any other. KPIs summarize total programs, graduation rate, starting salary, and internships. An Outcome Score ranks programs by graduation, salary, and popularity, while a second chart compares starting salaries by program and difficulty, helping students see which path best fits their goals.
Page 4 – Colleges Overview
The final page compares all academies side-by-side. High-level cards show colleges in view, total programs, and average tuition, salary, and magic score. A bar chart ranks schools by magic score, a scatter plot shows the relationship between tuition and starting salary (bubble size = number of programs), a time-series line chart tracks how starting salaries have evolved, and a matrix grid breaks down colleges by major with key metrics.
Overall, the report blends a fantasy theme with interactive analytics to help users explore fit, programs, and outcomes in a fun, immersive way.

You did a great job!
Gabriel wow! You just started learning PBI 6ish months ago? Really well done!
Thank you, I first got into Power BI during an internship, and since then I’ve been learning mainly through online videos and experimenting with personal projects, especially on the design side. I’m still an undergraduate student, but I’m really hoping to keep growing my skills and work more with reports and dashboards in the future.
